Change…Again

change

“It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change. ” ~Charles Darwin

“If you don’t like change, you’re going to like irrelevance even less.” ~General Eric Shinseki

“To exist is to change, to change is to mature, to mature is to go on creating oneself endlessly”. ~Henri Bergson

“If we don’t change, we don’t grow. If we don’t grow, we are not really living.” ~Gail Sheehy

Well, it happened again.  Change.  When they say that the only thing that is constant is change, they aren’t kidding.  For the second time in my IT career I have been laid off (wonder if someone is trying to give me a hint?)  While some people might see this as devastating, I prefer to look at it as an opportunity to do things that I have been putting off due to time constraints or even the complacency of getting a paycheck.  That being said, getting laid off is not all fun and games.  The clock is ticking; there are bills to pay and responsibilities to my family.  There are people that most likely I will never see again and things that I may never do again… but more importantly there are new experiences, there are future opportunities for chance meetings with old friends and co-workers, whom for some reason seem to get closer to you the longer you have been away.

At this point I would like to thank all my coworkers whom I will be leaving, for the experiences and growth that I have had with all of you.  As with each time I have moved on from a job I will remember the good time more vividly and the “difficult” times less.  I will miss all of you and wish you all the best of luck in all your future endeavors.  I look for forward to our future chance meetings, but until then, goodbye for now.

Please feel free to drop me an email or give me a call.
